Funeral services for Elmer Ford, 76, were held Sunday at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home in Tipton. The Rev. Louis Penningroth of Iowa City officiated. Burial was in the Stanwood cemetery.

Mr. Ford died at his home in Stanwood Jan. 26, following a short illness.

The youngest son of John and Kathryn Ford, he was born in Tipton March 28, 1879. He spent his youth on a farm in Red Oak township and attended the rural school.

On July 25, 1903, he was united in marriage to Bertha Grace Wertz. The couple lived in the Red Oak and Stanwood communities.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Otto (Elnora) Gottschalk of Stanwood and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, three sisters and two brothers.
