Chester P. Ellyson, 73, West Branch, died at the hospital at Independence Friday night, Oct. 18.

The oldest of four children of Sewell and Emma Hill Ellyson, he was born on a farm four miles north of West Branch. He was educated at Honey Grove and at the West Branch high school. His health failed near the end of his junior year and he has been a hospital patient most of the time since then.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Allen and Hermoine Ellyson. He is survived by one brother, Austin I. Ellyson of West Branch, a niece and several nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Anderson funeral home, conducted by the Rev. L. E. Bauman, with burial in the West Branch cemetery.
