10 October 1957 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Mrs. Ed Armstrong, 82, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home, with the Rev. A. C. Long in charge. Burial will be in the Masonic cemetery.

Mrs. Armstrong died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Frederick, Tuesday morning.

Mrs. Armstrong is survived by four sons, Don, Robert, and Raymond, all of Tipton and Birt of Stanwood; three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Pearl) Frederick, Mrs. Vivian (Lula) Keller and Mrs. John (Genevieve) Achey, all of Tipton and a sister, Mrs. William Johnson, West Liberty.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ed Armstrong, 82, were held Friday at the Sheets and Dahn Funeral Home in Tipton with the Rev. A. C. Long of the Tipton Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery. Mrs. Armstrong died Oct. 8 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Frederick.

Jennie Lahmon Armstrong was born south of Mechanicsville on January 24, 1875, the oldest child of Jonathan and Harriett Lahmon.

She attended Cedar county rural schools. Her entire life was spent on the farm except for the last seven years, when she made her home in Buchanan. She was united in marriage to Edward S. Armstrong Nov. 28, 1894. To this union nine children were born, two of whom died in infancy.

For many years she attended the New Olivet United Brethren church in the community where she lived; later transferring her membership to the Methodist church in Tipton.

In 1944 Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

She is survived by three daughters and four sons: Mrs. Carl (Pearl) Frederick, Mrs. Vivian (Lulu) Keller and Mrs. John (Genevieve) Achey; Don, Robert and Raymond, Tipton and Birt, Clarence; 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. William Johnson, West Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one sister.
