Charles Hoon, 71, former Tipton resident, died Aug. 2 at Convin hospital in Pueblo, Colo. Burial was in Pueblo.

The eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hoon, he was born July 2, 1886, in Tipton and attended the Tipton school.

He clerked in the Hoon store in Stanwood for many years and in 1910 he moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., then to Pueblo where he was employed by the Santa Fe railroad.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy, two step-children, seven grandchildren, three brothers, Harry, Everett and Ben of Tipton, and two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Ocheltree of Tipton, and Mrs. Ruth Myers of Ingelwood, Calif.

He was a veteran of World War I, serving in France.
