Dr. Fred Rugger, 66, veterinarian in Lowden from 1918 until 1938, collapsed and died in Cedar Rapids Thursday night. He suffered a heart attack.
Dr. Rugger had been in practice at Oxford since leaving Lowden.
He was born at Maquoketa Feb. 2, 1890, and was graduated from Ontario veterinary college in Toronto, Canada, in 1914. He practiced at Renwick, Elmore, Minn., and Buffalo Center before coming to Lowden.
He was married to Gertrude Klein at Elmore, Minn., in 1915. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Eldon Mueller, Iowa City, and Mrs. William Huffman, Cocoa Beach, Fla., three sons, Gerald, Chatham, N. J.; Clifford, Mason City, and Dr. William T. Rugger, Oxford, and 11 grandchildren.
