A telegram was received in DeWitt yesterday from Mrs. R. K. Shiffer of Tipton, telling of the death of her husband, Rev. Shiffer, who passed away Saturday evening, after an illness of about two years duration.

The funeral will be held in Tipton Tuesday. Rev. Shiffer was pastor of the M.E. church here for four years, occupying the pulpit prior to Rev. Kidder, and has many friend in DeWitt who were grieved to hear the sad news.

About three years ago the Shiffer family moved to Mechanicsville where Mr. Shiffer accepted a pastorate, but on account of poor health he was forced to give up his ministerial duties. They then removed to Tipton, their former home.
