Funeral services for Clifford D. Hostler, 61, Tipton appliance dealer for more than 30 years, were held Wednesday with burial in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mr. Hostler died Sunday after suffering a heart attack while returning to his home in Tipton from a trip to Moline, Ill. He was taken to Veteran's hospital in Iowa City where he died.

A native of Missouri, he was married to Cora Albaugh Feb. 2, 1920, in Tipton. He had been in the appliance business in Tipton since the 20s' and was one of Tipton's senior businessmen.

He was a veteran of World War I, enlisting at Tipton March 26, 1917, at the age of 19. He served overseas from Oct. 13, 1918 to May 31, 1919 and was discharged as a private first class.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. John Bales, Cedar Rapids; a son, Larry, Tipton, a sister and 4 grandchildren.
