Mrs. George Bannick, 80, formerly of Bennett and a resident of Durant for 11 years, died Nov. 15 in the Hawker Nursing Home at West Liberty after an extended illness.

The former Amanda Rohse was born in Allens Grove. She was married to George C. Bannick in 1896 in Davenport. The couple farmed near Bennett until retirement in 1948. Mr. Bannick died in 1955.

Surviving are two sons, Mearl, Mount Vernon; 2 daughters, Mrs. Waldo Horn and Mrs. Harvey Hass, both of Durant; a brother, William Rohse, Durant; a sister, Mrs. Mable Goettsch, Davenport; 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday in Durant. Burial was in the Inland Cemetery at Bennett.
