12 November 1959 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Atty. Arthur Lund, 65, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Methodist church with the Rev. A. C. Long officiating. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Atty. Lund died at his home in Huntington Park, Calif. Nov. 9.

He was born in Illinois March 5, 1894 and came to Tipton from Marion.

He practiced law in Tipton for about 30 years and served as Cedar county attorney for 2 terms, 1921 through 1924.

Mr. and Mrs. Lund moved from Tipton to California in 1946.

Funeral services for Arthur Lund, former Cedar county attorney, were held in Tipton Nov. 15, with the Rev. A. C. Long officiating. Mrs. Phyllis Willer, accompanied by Mrs. Irma Crawford, sang. Interment was in the Masonic cemetery.

Arthur Lund, son of Thomas and Caroline Lund, was born at Ottawa, Ill. March 5, 1892. A few years later the family moved to a farm near Marion and he was graduated from Marion high school and the University of Iowa.

In 1917 he married Emma Wingert. They made their home in Tipton where he practiced law for 29 years. In 1946 they established their home and his law business at Huntington Park, Calif.

He died at his California home Saturday evening, Nov. 7.

Atty. Lund was a member of the Methodist church in Tipton. Later, he joined the Huntington Park Christian church. He was a member of the Masonic lodge in Tipton, the Amorouth Lodge of Maywood, Calif., the South East Bar Association of Southern California and the National Accounting association.

During the last years of his life he was in poor health.

He is survived by his wife, Emma, Huntington Park, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Helen McGrath of Marion, a nephew and a niece.

Memorial services were held Nov. 11 at the Huntington Park Christian church with Dr. LaVerne Freeman officiating.
