Tom Siler, 70, a prominent southwest Cedar county farmer until his retirement, died suddenly Monday at his home in West Branch. He had had a heart condition in recent years.
He was born July 18, 1889, at Lexington, Va., a son of Jacob and Mary Parsons Siler. He was married Feb. 18, 1916, in Iowa City to the former Minnie Thompson.
Mr. Siler was supervisor from the third district (southwest Cedar county) from Jan. 1, 1944 to Dec. 31, 1946.
Mr. Siler was a member of the West Branch Masonic lodge and Lions club.
Survivors include his widow, 2 sisters, Mrs. Grace Klicker, Lexington, and Mrs. Nellie Fox, Montpelier, Ind. Three brothers and 3 sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at West Branch with the Rev. L. E. Bauman officiating. Burial with Masonic rites was in the West Branch cemetery.
