8 October 1959 - The Tipton Conservative

Charles Murray, 62, of Davenport, former Tipton resident, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon after apparently suffering a heart attack at work at the Kay Furniture Co., Davenport. Coroner Harry Runge was called and pronounced the man dead.

Born in Tipton he married Mildred McClintic Jan. 16, 1949 in Davenport. He had been employed by the Kay Furniture Co. for the past 10 years.

Surviving are his wife; 2 sons, Charles of Davenport and John at home; 2 daughters, Mrs. Robert Higgins and Mrs. James Doty, both of Davenport, 2 step daughters, Janice and Judianne McClintic, both at home; 7 grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Mrs. Frank Hanks, Tipton, Mrs. Roy Isacks, Reseda, Calif., and Mrs. Robert Schwetzberger, Peltz, Colo. Two sisters preceded him in death.

Service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial park.

Murray was deputy sheriff of Cedar county in 1931 and 1932 and was a salesman while he lived in Tipton.
