Funeral services for Ray Metz, 60, Cass township farmer, were held Feb. 16 at Tipton with Gordon Smith in charge. Burial was beside his wife in Evergreen cemetery, west of Cedar Bluff.

Mr. Metz died at Mercy hospital in Cedar Rapids, Feb. 13, after an illness of several weeks.

The son of Martin and Margaret Metz, he was born near Cedar Valley April 12, 1898. He was married to Ruby Irene Sailor Aug. 14, 1919. He farmed west of Tipton and lived his entire life in that community.

He is survived by a twin brother, Roy; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ida Seitz and Mrs. Grace Herring; 2 nieces, Mrs. Doris Pickett and Mrs. Dorothy Folkenroth and 2 nephews, Monte Roy Folkenroth and Udelle Seitz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two children who died in infancy, and two brothers.
