Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Rohwedder, 87, were held Saturday at the Olin Methodist church with the Rev. M. L. Dutro in charge. Burial was at Olin.
Casketbearers, all grandsons of Mrs. Rohwedder, were Lyle, Don and Lorance Mackey, Grover and Virtus Lorenzen, and Alan Rohwedder.
Mrs. Rohwedder died at Anamosa Jan. 20.
Ida Caroline Neilsen, daughter of Carl and Christine Neilsen, was born Oct. 16, 1871, in Fohr, Germany, the youngest of a family of 8 children.
When she was about 7 years of age she came to America with her family. They settled in the vicinity of Wyoming.
Feb. 21, 1892, she was united in marriage to Max J. Rohwedder at Wyoming. Ten children, 4 of whom died in infancy, were born to this union.
Mr. and Mrs. Rohwedder farmed in the Olin vicinity throughout most of their married life.
Mrs. Rohwedder was preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters; her husband, who died in 1921, and a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Margaret) Lorenzen, who died Sept. 28, 1949.
Mrs. Rohwedder moved to Stanwood in 1928 where she made her home until about 4 years ago. Since that time she has divided her time among her children.
She is survived by three sons, Carl and Hans, both of Olin, and Marvin of Stanwood; 2 daughters, Mrs. Leona Mackey, Olin, and Mrs. Ina Ford, Tipton; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
