Memorial services for Mrs. Clara E. Murray, 93, were held Jan. 22 with burial in Red Oak cemetery. Mrs. Murray died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lee Miller, Jan. 19.

Clara E. Murray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Plate, was born Sept. 2, 1865, in Linn township. She was married to William B. Murray April 30, 1889. They farmed in Cedar county until 1943 when they retired, moving to Tipton. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary April 30, 1939, on the farm where they began married life.

Mrs. Murray was an active member of the United Brethren church in the New Olivet community.

She is survived by a son, Alex Murray, Tipton, and 2 daughters, Mrs. Lee (Murial) Miller, Tipton, and Mrs. Clara E. Smith of McMinnville, Ore., 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Aug. 25, 1952.
