Funeral services for Isaac E. Mayer, 83, former Cedar Valley farmer and merchant, were held Wednesday. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mr. Mayer died Monday afternoon at the Thurston nursing home.

He was born on a farm in Cedar county Aug. 12, 1875, and spent most of his life in the Cedar Valley area, first as a farmer and later as the operator of the Cedar Valley general store.

He was married to May Williams Jan. 13, 1896. His wife preceded him in death.

He is survived by a brother, John, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Huntington, both of Mountain View, Mo.
