Funeral services for Elmer M. Daut, 64, were held Monday at the First Presbyterian church in Wilton Junction with the Rev. Richard McEuen in charge. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Daut was born May 15, 1894, in Cedar county, the son of Peter and Amelia Lindle Daut. He was married Dec. 18, 1923, to Leona Schneckloth at Davenport. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Wilton and Masonic lodge A.F. & A.M. 167.

Mr. Daut attended the Wilton Junction schools and Brown Business college. He was employed at the Rock Island arsenal during World War I, and later by Bell Telephone at Davenport.

He started farming near Wilton Junction in 1921. The family moved to Wilton Junction after he retired from the farm in 1944.

Mr. Daut is survived by his widow; a son, Robert H., a student at Drake university, Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Sessler, Wilton Junction, and Mrs. Robert Hohnbaum of Davenport; a sister, Mrs. Clara E. Leith of Wilton Junction; two grandchildren, Steven and Ann Hohnbaum.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
