Clarence, Ia. March 18 --Never was the community more shaken with grief than it was last Friday morning when it was announced that Mrs. Lloyd Williams had passed away. Her untimely death spread sorrow to several communities and to many homes.

Mrs. Lloyd J. Williams, nee Mildred Clare Emerson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Emerson of Mt. Vernon, was born in Oxford Junction, Iowa, Aug. 12, 1892, and spent the greater part of her short life in the vicinity of Clarence.

She was united in marriage to Lloyd Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Williams of Clarence, October 2, 1912. The young couple spent their few years of married life together on the farm 5 1/2 miles northeast of Clarence. To this union was born two daughter, Mildred Eva, aged 2 years and Mable Clare, in infancy.

Mrs. Williams was a member of the Dayton Valley church, uniting with it in 1906 during Rev. W. R. Emerson's pastorate.

The funeral was held Sunday, March 12, from the church of which she was a member at 11 o'clock, conducted by her former pastor, Rev. W. R. Emerson, of Charles City, assisted by the present pastor, Rev. F. J. Wilson. Rev. Emerson's text was taken from John 11, 24-25, "I am the resurrection and the life."

The Oxford Junction choir rendered several beautiful and appropriate vocal selections.

The sympathy of the entire community was extended to the bereaved relatives and friends. There were many beautiful floral offerings that bespoke of the esteem in which the young lady was held.
