Samuel W. Yeater, son of Elias G. and Elizabeth Geedy Yeater, was born in Juniata county, Pa., April 24, 1864, and died at the home of his daughter, Irene, Oct. 24, 1955, at the age of 91 years, 6 months.

May 14, 1891, at Muscatine, Ia., he was married to Margaret Haigh, who preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 1934. Most of their married life was spent in the vicinity of Tipton, Iowa. To this union were born four children who grew to maturity, and several who died in infancy.

As a young man he united with the Church of the Brethren.

His education was received in the school of experience, which held for him, a long session. At the age of eleven, his father passed away. Being the oldest of the family, he assisted his mother in providing for the family.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Irene Reife and Mrs. Velma Taylor, both of Mechanicsville. Clarence and Russell preceded him in death. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Emma Steinbaugh of Muscatine, Iowa; one brother, Frank, of Logansport, Ind., and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Sheets & Dahn funeral home Wednesday, Oct. 25. Elder U. J. Fike officiated. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery, Muscatine.
