Theodore Lange was born to Phillip and Clara Lange on Sept. 17, 1876, four and a half miles south of Clarence. He died on Sunday morning, Sept. 26, in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids.

In 1900 he was married to Augusta Drichel in Lowden, Iowa. They spent 27 years farming and 27 years in Tipton.

Mr. Lange was confirmed in the Lowden Evangelical and Reformed church. He was a long time member of the St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church in Clarence. A few years ago he transferred his membership to St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church in Tipton.

Mr. Lange was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Those who survive him are his wife, Augusta; two sons, Edgar and Herman; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 27, in the Sheets & Dahn funeral home with pastor Harold Kratzat officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
