Mrs. Reed C. Workman, 57, passed away in Stanwood Friday, Sept. 23, at 12:15 p.m., following a brief illness. She was born Pearl Rebecca Lehr on July 17, 1898, at Lisbon, Iowa, where she spent most of her girlhood life.

She was united in marriage to Reed C. Workman of Stanwood on March 2, 1921. They established their home in the vicinity of Lisbon until 1937 when they moved to Stanwood and established their home on the farm, until two years ago, when they moved to town.

Born to this union were three children, LaVerne E. of Stockton, Wilma J. Havel and Myron R., both of Stanwood. Other survivors, besides her husband and children, are six grandchildren, Dennis and Gary Workman, Larry and Kaylene Havel, Dianna and Donna Workman; 3 sisters, Mrs. Laura Hunter of Lisbon, Mrs. Alice Baker of Mechanicsville, Mrs. Kathryn Lindley of Martelle; one brother, Earl Lehr, of Tempe, Arizona, and a number of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, two brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Workman was baptized in infancy and was a member of the Methodist church in Stanwood.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Sept. 26, at 2:30 p.m. in the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. George Gaide, assisted by Rev. Thomas Stewart. Music was by Mrs. Eugene McCaw, Mrs. Robert Joslin, and Mrs. Roland Mingst, with Mrs. Ed Spear, organist. Mrs. Ed Crist, Mrs. Frank Moffatt and Mrs. Alf Meyer were in charge of flowers. Casket bearers were Ed Crist, Alf Meyer, Henry Ormsby, Burr Aylesworth, Howard Tenley and Willard Eiler. Interment in the Stanwood cemetery.
