Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church for Wm. Tenley, a longtime resident of the Stanwood vicinity. He was preceded in death by his wife and one son. He is survived by three sons, two daughters and a number of grandchildren.

William Albert Tenley, son of David and Harriet Tenley, was born in Mercersburg, Franklin county, Pa., on Sept. 10, 1872. He passed away on Sept. 3, 1955, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 23 days, in his home at Stanwood.

Mr. Tenley was born and raised to young manhood in Pennsylvania. He was married to Miss Orpha Sisler at Mt. Carroll, Ill., on February 20, 1897, and they immediately established their home in Stanwood.

Survivors include five children: Glenn, Forrest, Howard and Ora of Stanwood and Mrs. Eva Hotz of Olin, sixteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. One son, Daniel, died at the age of ten years. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Daisy Shives, of Greencastle, Pa., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Tenley, in his active life, was widely known as a stock buyer and a successful farmer. His greatest interest was in his family, seeing that they were permanently located in establishing their homes. In his latter days he greatly enjoyed the comradeship of his children and took an active interest in their family affairs.

Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church in Stanwood on Tuesday, Sept. 6, with Rev. J. Fike and Rev. Tom Stewart officiating and burial in Red Oak cemetery. Sheets & Dahn funeral home in charge of service.

Pallbearers were Henry Ormsby, Max Coppess, J. H. Kinkead, Jack Cain, Harry Hegarty and Herman Sanders. Carl Haesemeyer and Robert McClellan assisted with the flowers.
