Everette Ludue Atkins, son of Otis and Addalaide Atkins, was born Nov. 1, 1882, at Rochester, Iowa, and passed away at the home of his daughter Mabel Dolan, of Tipton, July 18, 1955. He spent his entire life in Cedar county except for one and a half years he farmed in Owen, Wis.

On December 4, 1907, he was united in marriage to Nora Agatha Rehben, at Muscatine, Iowa. He was a member of the Rochester church and Moline Moose lodge No. 235.

Surviving are one son, Darrell, of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Mabel Dolan of Tipton, Erdine Kruse of West Liberty, and Stella Gardner of Tipton; and ten grandchildren, two half brothers Ray Atkins of Davenport and Homer Atkins of Wichita, Kans.; also a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his wife, one daughter Marcella Kruse, his parents and brother Arthur.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 21, 1955, at the Sheets & Dahn funeral home with Rev. Gordon Smith officiating and interment in Tipton Masonic cemetery.
