Mrs. Ellen Dauchey, aged nearly eighty, suffered a stroke of paralysis while at dinner at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. A. Fife, Tuesday noon, and passed away at eight o'clock that evening.

Mrs. Dauchey had made her home for some time with the Fife family. She had been in her customary health until this stroke Tuesday noon. Trained nurses were brought at once from Iowa City and all that could be done for her was done, but her death came in the evening.

Funeral services will be held at Preston, Minn., with burial there.

Ellen Anne Chase was born at Garden Prairie, Ill., July 10, 1850. At seventeen years of age, she moved with her parents to Decorah, Iowa. A few years later she was united in marriage to Frederick Walter Dauchey. Two children were born to this union. Nettie Bertha and Ida May, who preceded her in death in 1916.

Mrs. Dauchey had lived with her married daughter, Mrs. J. A. Fife, for many years. She was a devout Christian all her life, always thinking of others. She was a true and faithful mother.

Her death occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fife, Tuesday evening, Sept. 17th, coming after only a few hours illness, she being stricken during the noon hour.

A simple service was held at the home early Thursday morning, after which the funeral party drove to Canton, Minn., where services were held and interment was made at Preston, Minn.
