The death of Mrs. P. M. Schooley occurred at the hospital at Iowa City Tuesday, following an operation which was performed Monday. Her death was a shock to her many friends. Mrs. Schooley was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Ruth Pownall of West Branch and she was well known to many here, having been a lifelong resident of the West Liberty and Centerdale communities.

Funeral services will be held at the home at 3:00 o'clock this afternoon.

Funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon for Mrs. P. M. Schooley, who passed away at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, at 10:30 Tuesday evening, Sept. 10, following an operation the previous day. She was 63 years of age. She leaves to mourn, the grief stricken husband, P. M. Schooley, and six sons, Howard, Carl, Clifford, Harry, Ralph and Earl, all of this neighborhood except Carl, who resides in West Liberty; ten grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters, besides a host of neighbors and friends. Rev. W. A. Smith of the M. E. church of West Liberty conducted the services, the pall bearers being the six sons. The body was laid to rest in the North Prairie cemetery. Mrs. Schooley was a devoted wife and mother and a kind a cheerful neighbor, who will be greatly missed by this community in which she lived her entire married life. Mr. and Mrs. Schooley were both lovers of nature, which is shown in the surroundings of their beautiful country home where they spent their happy retiring years. The sympathy of this neighborhood is extended to all the bereaved in their time of sorrow. Those who came from a distance for the services were Miss Lilla Crain of Cedar Rapids; Guy Grover and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Crain, all of Rowley, Iowa.
