3 January 1929 - West Branch Times

Funeral services were conducted at 10 o'clock Monday morning, Dec. 24, for George O. Kelley, 35, at the residence, 168 Illinois avenue, Dayton, Ohio, by Rev. N. E. Butler, pastor of the Raper M.E. church and Mystic lodge of Masons. Interment was made at Memorial Park.

Kelley was born in West Branch, Iowa, July 11, 1893, the son of George I. and Emma Oliver Kelley. They later moved to Washington, D. C., where he graduated from the McKinley high school in 1912. After taking a course in electrical engineering, he became associated with the National Cash Register company, taking a position in the designing and invention department, working there for nearly eight years.

In 1920, he married Genevieve Ruffner of Lebanon, Ohio, who, with two daughters, Alice Marie and Marjorie Anne, survive him.

He was ill only a few days, dying of pneumonia, at Miami Valley hospital at 3 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Kelley's father, George I. Kelley, was superintendent of the West Branch schools during the family's residence here and they will be remembered by many of our readers.
