David Boyce Morrison was born in Collins, Erie county, New York, Nov. 14, 1832, and died Dec. 1, 1905. Came to Iowa City in the first days of Sept., 1854. Nov. 1st came to Springdale where he has been a constant resident for 51 years. In January, 1858, he was married to Ann Patterson. To them was born six children, Frank P., Flora May, Emma, Charles Henry, Edwin S., and Carloss A., all living except Emma, who passed away March 29, 1898. He was much interested in education and had a keen sense of justice and integrity. As a citizen and neighbor his influence was strong for the good of those among whom he lived. A strong man mentally and physically, enduring his intense suffering uncomplainingly and with great patience. He was a kind and indulgent husband and father.

The funeral services were held at the home in Springdale, Dec. 4th, conducted by Rev. Geo. Furniss, of West Liberty, and the interment took place in the cemetery at West Branch.
