Another Cedar County Boy Makes Supreme Sacrifice

Mrs. G. F. Longerbeam of Downey received a message this morning from the War Department informing her of the death of her son, Herbert, in France. The message stated he died October 21st from wounds. Mr. Longerbeam is well known in this community and leaves many relatives and friends to mourn. His father died September 29, 1918, thus bringing sadness to the home again in so short a time.

Besides his mother he has one sister and brother at home; also one brother in Oklahoma, and Mrs. Frank Hess and Mrs. G. A. Sizer, sisters, living here.

Herbert went across some time in August and belonged to Co. B. 64th Inf. 7th Div.
