The following obituary will be read with regret by many of the former neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Cope who were residents of this section several years ago. We clip from The Guthrian, of Guthrie Center: "Died at her residence in Bear Grove township September 16th from a long and painful illness, aged 68 years 1 month and 1 day, Mrs. Mary Cope, who has resided in that township for the past twenty-two years. Mrs. Cope was the daughter of Michael Sullivan, a resident of Columbiana county where in 1870 she was married to Cyrus Cope, a native of Stark county, Ohio. Three sons with the husband survive her. The deceased was a good wife and mother and by her lovable traits of heart and mind she was endeared to a large circle of friends in the community in which she spent the later years of her life. She with her husband have long been prominent members of the Friends church and her funeral which occurred Tuesday was conducted according to the tenets of that church. Burial was at Bowman Chapel and her obsequies were largely attended by sorrowing and sympathizing friends and neighbors.
