7 June 1906 - West Branch Times

Ida Belle Haithman was born in Monroe county, Mo., Sept. 15, 1871, departed this life at her home near Centerdale, Iowa, June 1, 1906.

Married Oct. 1, 1896, to J. D. Vincent, and cared for his home and five motherless children. Three children were born to them, Ruth, Harold and Melvin, whose tender childhood is so early bereft of a mothers watchful, loving care and solicitude.

Mrs. Vincent united with the Baptist church when 17 years of age, and was a member of the Congregational Missionary society.

She was a sufferer from quick consumption the past year and though family ties bound her to this life, she felt her Heavenly Father calling her home. Her testimony to friends and neighbors was that she was ready and waiting her Lord's summons. At eleven o'clock p.m. June 1, with a gleam of celestial joy on her countenance and a glad ring in her voice she said "Good bye, good bye all," and we realized her sufferings were over and one who loved truth and righteousness had gone from our midst, leaving us a most blessed example of faith and love.

Our sorrow is not without hope. J.P.

The funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Sunday morning at the residence south of Centerdale, conducted by Rev. W. B. Davis. Burial at the cemetery north of Plato.
