George Wooley, a former resident of near Springdale, passed away at his home in West Liberty, Saturday, Aug. 8, after a lingering and very suffering struggle with malignant cancer on the neck. The deceased will be remembered by the acquaintances formed during the number of years he lived on his farm in this vicinity as a generous hearted man, ever in sympathy with the needy, not only in words, but his purse was opened equally as freely to those deserving of help. The funeral was held from the late residence Monday at 2:30 p.m. Much sympathy is extended to the surviving daughter, Clementine, who so faithfully cared for the mother during her long sickness until called home in February, 1902, and since administered to the wants of the father.
