Adam Knease was born in Germany, Nov. 30, 1830, and died at his residence 2 1/4 miles northwest of West Branch, July 18, 1902, aged 71 years, 8 months and 17 days. Upon this section Mr. Knease chose the occupation of a farmer and his indominate energy and thrift enabled him to accumulate much of this world's goods. He has for many years resided on his fine farm from which his funeral was held Sunday afternoon, and amid the rain, which seemingly fell in sympathy for the bereaved family he was laid in his last resting place in the cemetery near town, Rev. Furniss conducting the services. He leaves an aged wife, two sons and one daughter to mourn his loss.
