The funeral services of George W. Simons whose death occurred last Saturday morning, were conducted from the Lutheran church on Monday morning in charge of J. Kent Rizer. A large company of relatives and friends attended, showing the high regard in which Mr. Simons was held.

The deceased was born in Tipton July 26th, 1868, and had spent his entire life here. He was in the employment of the C. & N. W. railroad for nineteen years and was always a faithful and industrious employe.

He was married May 4th, 1892, to this union were born three girls and two boys, the wife and the children all surviving him, except an infant son who died eleven years ago.

In addition, Mr. Simons leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Simons of this city, two sisters, Mrs. J. M. Cessford of Vinton, Iowa, and Mrs. C. M. Robinson of Tipton, and two brothers, also of this city, Charles and Benjamin.

Mr. Simons united with the Lutheran church Feb. 14, 1904, by baptism and again and again to his pastor and others evidenced his faith in God and his love for the Saviour. His body was laid away to rest in the Masonic cemetery, his soul will awaken to the glad joy of the resurrection morning.
