Iva May Shultz, daughter of John D. and Alma Flater Shultz, was born near Tipton Nov. 1, 1894 and passed away late Sunday night Nov. 17, 1957, at the age of sixty-three years and sixteen days.

She obtained her schooling in the Tipton school, moving with her parents and brother to a farm in Iowa township where she completed her studies to the eighth grade and after attending Cornell college, taught school for many years until failing health forced her to give up teaching.

About the last day of October, she contracted the flu and in her weakened condition, suffered a stroke last Friday which resulted in her death.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her brother Paul and his wife, four nephews, one niece, three grand-nieces, and four grand-nephews, many distant relatives and friends.

Services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 20, by the Rev. A. R. Stratemeyer at the Peterseim & Dye chapel. Interment was in the Masonic cemetery beside her mother in the family lot.
