Wendell P. Townsend was born Sept. 17 1895 and died Aug. 20, 1896 aged 11 months and 8 days.

Wendell was a very beautiful and promising child. He was just the age to be sweet and attractive. In death he looked angelic. His sunny nature and winsome smiles had gathered about him an unusually large circle of ardent admirers. In him the fond hopes and lofty expectations of fond parents, centered.

They had early consecrated him to God. Every possible means were used for his restoration, but Jesus seemed to say, "Suffer the little children to come unto me," and fond affection could not detain him in this world of sin and suffering. He is not lost but gone before.

A great wealth of pure white flowers were woven into appropriate designs by sympathizing friends and placed about the little casket. The funeral was conducted from the home, Saturday, August 22nd at 3 p.m. Addresses were made by Revs. Taylor and Bevan. The remains were interred in the Malcom cemetery.
