Sina Ann Standing 1847-1924

Sina Ann Branson, daughter of William D. and Eliza Branson, was born at Salem, Ohio, 2nd mo. 2nd, 1847. She came with her parents to Cedar county, Iowa, in the spring of 1853, and with them and the rest of the family shared the hardships and privations of pioneer life, living in a log cabin on the farm they purchased west of Springdale, which was at that time the center of the Friends settlement.

She was a life long member of the Society of Friends and in her girlhood days attended the school taught by Joel and Hannah Bean, for whom she always cherished a loving remembrance.

In the declining years of her parents she faithfully cared for them in their West Branch home. Her mother was called in the spring of 1896. Her father followed nine years later.

(unreadable) marriage to Francis B. Rich. Less than seven years afterwards they were parted by the death of the husband.

In the fall of the year 1914 she was united in marriage to Henry Standing of Earlham, Iowa. After a brief sojourn there they returned to the West Branch home where they continued to reside until the summons came to the beloved and faithful wife to enter her heavenly home 7th mo. 2nd, 1924. She was laid to rest in the West Branch cemetery beside her parents.
