A message was received by E. H. Thomas announcing the death of his father, Samuel Thomas, at his home at Pasadena, Calif., Sunday evening at 9:45 o'clock. No further particulars have yet been received except that Mr. Thomas had been in his usual health, so his death must have been very unexpected.

He was a brother of William, Pearson and Peter Thomas of this place, and has always lived here until his removal to California a few years ago. The many friends of the families extend sympathy at this time.
