25 May 1899 - West Branch Times

Charles Summer Holloway was born near Flushing, Belmont Co., Ohio, July 17, 1871. Two years later he moved with his parents to Cedar Co., Iowa there he resided until of age. Father, sister and six brothers survive him. His mother having died July 1888. His first acquaintance in Linn Co. was made about seven years ago. Charley made friends wherever he went and kept them. He held a birthright in the Friends church. During his illness he suffered extremely but bore it patiently. The day before his death he told friends he could not live and after impressing wishes as to his property, wished morning would come as that would decide it and release him from his suffering, and at 5:15 o'clock a.m., May 12, he passed away, thus ended a short but active life. --Springville Era.
