5 February 1914 - West Branch Times

Lindley H. Heald of West Liberty, accompanied by his wife, attended the funeral of his sister, Mrs. Samuel Embree, Monday, and was taken violently sick at the Embree home near Springville yesterday morning at 3:00 o'clock and died at 6:00 o'clock. He had been afflicted with stomach and liver trouble for a year or more. The remains were taken to West Liberty today where the funeral will be held later. The deceased was a brother to Ezra Heald of this place.

Lindley Heald was born in Columbiana County, Ohio, March 25, 1848. Following brief illness of but a few hours, he passed to his eternal rest in Springville, Ia., whence he had gone with his wife to attend the funeral of a sister, Wednesday morning, February 4th, 1914.

After spending his boyhood days in Ohio the place of his birth, he came to Iowa in 1866 and lived on a farm in Cedar Co. near West Branch.

Five years ago he moved to West Liberty where he since made his home.

He was married to Nancy L. Fritchman Dec 6 1871.

Three children came to bless their home, Miss Edith L. Emmons of What Cheer, Ia., and Miss Mararet A. and Miss Lydia Sheets of West Liberty.

A brother Ezra Heald of West Branch, Ia, remains as the only surviving member of his immediate family.

He was a member of the Friends church in West Branch having been a member of this branch of christian church nearly all his life. His passing though sudden was peaceful, and he was ready when the summons came to go.
