Mr. and Mrs. William Hannah and little son, living one mile east of town, started in their Ford car to drive to the L. N. Ellyson home last Sunday evening and had gone only a short distance (unreadable) wish bone dropped and the car turned over, killing the babe and injuring both parents.

Briefly, this is the story of the terrible tragedy which occurred about 7:30 o'clock last Sunday evening. The eleven months old boy was instantly killed, Mrs. Hannah received cuts, bruises and serious injuries about her neck and shoulders, and Mr. Hannah escaped with bruises and shock.

Mrs. Hannah was brought to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Morris, in town, and received every possible care.

The funeral of the child was held Tuesday afternoon from the Morris home, and was conducted by Rev. Perdew.

Albert Milton Hannah, the only son of William Milton Hannah and Edith Mabel Hannah was born on June 12, 1923. At the tender age of eleven months he was instantly killed in an automobile accident, in which both of his parents suffered injury, about seven-thirty, Sunday evening, May 11, 1924. The family were on their way to the home of Louis Ellyson. They had only gone about a quarter of a mile when the sad accident occurred.

Albert Milton had greatly endeared himself to his parents and their friends. He was bright, understanding readily what was said to him. He had a loving and sympathetic nature. He showed a great deal of affection for his parents. He was healthy and strong, with a ready smile; a normal, happy child. Though he was not here long, he made the world a little happier for having come.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Hannah's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Morris. The Rev. W. C. Perdew officiated, assisted by the Rev. W. H. Wilson. Miss Doris Kemp and Miss Dorothy Enlow sang beautifully "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Rock of Ages." At the grave they sang a verse of "the Sweet Bye and Bye."

Four young girls in white, Margaret Stratton, Sara Wroe, Ruth Moore and Blanche Morgan, served as pallbearers.

The funeral services were attended by a host of friends, and the near relatives, three of whom came from a distance. These were Milton Hannah and William Donaldson, the father and grandfather respectively of William Hannah, and a brother, James Hannah, of Paris Mo. Also Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Beadle, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beadle and Marvin West of Cedar Rapids.
