Word is received that Dr. H. C. Gill died at his home in Prairie City on the morning of Saturday, March 25, 1900. Dr. Gill was a pioneer of Cedar Co. and spent many and the most active years of his life in Springdale. During his residence here he was identified with all the best interests of the place. The excellent standard of our educational institution and the advanced and moral tendencies of the community, owe much to his early influence. His declining years were pleasantly spent in his new home at Prairie City where his activity in public affairs, the skill of his profession and his social virtues were esteemed as in his former home.
