DIED WYMER--At his home in North Liberty, April 7th 1895, James Wymer aged fifty-five years.

The subject of the above notice was born in Muskingham Co., Ohio in 1840. While yet a child he came to Iowa with his parents, settling in Iowa township which with few changes has been his home ever since. At the breaking out of the civil war he responded to his country's call, enlisting in Company D. 11th Iowa Vol. Inft. where he remained four years, doing good service, never missing a roll call, never failing a duty. Indeed it has been said of him that a better soldier never shouldered a gun. After being mustered out at Louisville, Ky., July 16th 1865, he returned to private life, marrying Eunice Lightfoot in 1866, who with nine children survive to mourn his loss. Mr. Wymer was of a social nature and though trials came often, sorrows were multiplied and the good things of life came sparingly yet he maintained through all a cheerful disposition, was a good neighbor and strongly attached to his family. May the Lord that "tempers the wind to the shorn lamb" remember the dependent ones he leaves behind, comfort the afflicted widow and sorrowing brothers and above all shed His grace on the soul approaching the tribunal of the Throne if with only the plea, "greater love hath no man known than he would lay down his life for another." Surely this one risked his in a great cause and the welfare of an unfortunate brotherhood. JOSEPHA
