7 February 1895 - West Branch Times

Mrs. Hannah Wood is at length released from her suffering and the worn body laid to rest. She departed this life Friday Feb. 1st, and was buried in the cemetery north of town Sunday following. The funeral services were conducted at the Friends church and was largely attended. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. Yes from henceforth and forever more for they rest from their labors and their works follow them.

Hannah Wood of Springdale, Ia., peacefully fell asleep in Jesus, 2 mo., 1st 1895 in the 75 year of her age.

Deceased was the daughter of George and Lydia Tatum of Columbiana Co., Ohio. With her husband G. P. Wood she moved to Iowa in 1848 settling in Springdale where her unusual moral and mental endowments she became a valued member in its society and the Friends church to which she belonged never abating interest in their welfare while life lasted though of ten of her later years prevented from taking an active part through bodily ailments. Her last sickness, slow paralysis was of three and one-half months duration and borne with fortitude and Christian resignation. Mrs. Wood was the mother of five children, three of whom with their father remain to mourn her loss.
