Mrs. Joseph Matoush, a resident of this vicinity almost all her life, died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Jane Yetter, at West Liberty, Sunday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock. She went to West Liberty about two weeks ago, and her death resulted from a paralytic stroke and complications.

Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Christensen, of Henriette, Minn., two sisters, Mrs. O. M. Adams of West Liberty and Mrs. M. L. Marks of West Branch, and one brother, Theodore Yetter, of Tenvik, North Dakota.

Funeral services were held this morning at 10:30 o'clock from the home of Mrs. Yetter in West Liberty, with interment at West Branch.

Mandana Yetter, oldest child of Ananias and Jane Yetter, was born March 6th, 1870, near West Branch, Iowa. She grew to womanhood and her hand was won in marriage by Joseph Matoush, they were united in marriage on January 11, 1889. There was born to them one child, a daughter, Bessie, now Mrs. Christensen of Henriette, Minn. They have made the West Branch community their home until about fifteen years ago when they moved to Cedar Rapids, but after about five years they returned to the old community, and this was the home until the end came.

Mrs. Matoush was never a rugged woman and about three weeks ago suffered a stroke of paralysis, other complications set in and she passed away Sunday afternoon, Nov. 4, 1923. She leaves beside her husband and daughter, the mother, Mrs Jane Yetter, one brother, Theodore Yetter of Linton, N. Dak., two sisters; Mrs. Anna Adams of West Liberty and Mrs. Catherine Marks of West Branch. There are four grandchildren and numerous other relatives, all to mourn her taking.

Funeral services were held from the home of her mother, Mrs. Yetter, on Columbus street, Thursday morning, Rev. Lloyd Tennant of the M.E. church in charge, music by a duo of the Methodist choir, Mrs. Elsie Holmes and Miss Leota Kerr. Interment in the cemetery at West Branch.

Relatives which came from a distance were, Mrs. Bessie Christensen of Henriette, Minn., Theodore Yetter of Linton, N. Dak., Mrs. Catharine Dodt, Mrs. Mary Bure and daughter Pauline of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. James Dolezal and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Walker of Iowa City, Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Felton, Mrs. Sadie Behler, Mrs. Allie Morgan and Mrs. Catherine Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Miller, Mrs. Sadie Stroup and Mrs. Buckley of Muscatine.
