D. D. McGillivray died at his home in Lowden last Monday. The funeral services were held at the late home this morning and the burial made at Mechanicsville this afternoon. Mr. McGillivray was one of the best known men in this county, having lived in the county his entire life. He was thrown on his own resources while still a small boy but in spite of this handicap succeeded in securing a good education and putting himself through law school. He located in Lowden where he built up a good practice. He was one who had an exceptional capacity for making friends, and was elected county attorney on the democratic ticket when he had to overcome a normal republican majority, He made a good record in the office and was re-elected.

Mr. McGillivray's health began to fail several years ago, and for many months preceding his death he was confined to his bed by an illness known to be fatal. At the time of his death he was about 57 years of age. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. -- Tipton Advertiser
