Thos. P. Roberts, who lived on the Lewis J. Heald farm north of Centerdale, passed away Sunday morning. He had long been a sufferer from asthma. His funeral was held from the home Tuesday morning with interment at Pedee cemetery.

Thomas Roberts, a highly respected citizen living near Centerdale, but in former years a resident of this community, passed away at his home on Sunday morning after a lingering illness. Mr. Roberts was a brother of Mrs. George Hutcheson who lives in this neighborhood. He leaves a great number of friends who will regret his taking away. Throughout his illness he bore his suffering with great patience. He will be greatly missed in his home by his wife and one son; and also by his remaining brothers and sisters and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in his late home on Tuesday morning, May 22nd, and his remains brought to the cemetery at Pedee where it was laid to rest.

Thos. P. Roberts, son of Preston and Martha Roberts, was born in Cadiz, Ohio, in the year 1849 and came with his parents to Pedee, Cedar county, Iowa, in 1852. He was united in marriage with Miss Jennie Gaskill on April 12th, 1905, at Chicago, Ill., and to this union one child Charles N. Roberts was born.

Mr. Roberts departed from this earth on May 20th, 1923, at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 26 days.

He is survived by his wife and son, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hutcheson of Springdale, Iowa, and Mrs. Arch Corker of Plankington, S. Dak.; also two brothers John A. Roberts of Oklahoma and Charles P. Roberts of West Liberty, Iowa, and one brother deceased, Israel Roberts. He had been in declining health for two years or more. To the last he fought bravely to maintain his cheerful attitude. His immediate world was his home, and here was his greatest joy.

Funeral service was held from the home Tuesday morning at 10:30, conducted by Rev. W. Glenn Rowley. Interment in the Pedee cemetery.
