Funeral services for Mrs. Hurley (Gladys Vivian) Scott, 82, were held at the United Methodist church, Mechanicsville, Jan. 8 with the Rev. Dick Harberts officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert, Rick, and Tom Pruess, Scott Davidson, Ricky Scott and Carl Warren Jr. Mrs. Calvin Robinson was organist.

Mrs. Scott died at the Mechanicsville Care Center Jan. 6.

The daughter of George and Ella Herring Koppenhaver, she was born at Mechanicsville June 15, 1898 and graduated from the Mechanicsville high school.

She was married to Hurley D. Scott at Marion May 26, 1920. They operated a business in Mechanicsville for many years. Mr. Scott died Sept. 6, 19771.

Mrs. Scott was a member of the Methodist church, Evangeline Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, the Royal Neighbors and was a charter member of the American Legion auxiliary.

She is survived by 3 children, Mrs. Milford (LaVaughn) Pruess, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Davidson and Roxy Scott, all of Mechanicsville; a sister, Eva Carpenter, Mechanicsville; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, Leone Armstrong and 2 grandchildren, Randy Scott and Terry Pruess.
