Mrs. Marion Petersen was born in the hamlet of Albek, Jutland, Denmark, July 22, 1832. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Albek. In 1858 she was united in marriage to Mr. H. C. Petersen. To this union were born three daughters, Lena, Anna Marie and Anna Martina. Lena died in Denmark; Anna Martina was united in marriage to Mr. R. Christensen and later on came to America where she died and was laid to rest in West Branch cemetery in 1910. After the death of Mrs. Petersen's husband she came to America to make her home with her only surviving daughter, Mrs. N. P. Anderson, where she had the best of care for 23 years, until her death on June 4, 1923, at the age of 90 years and 11 months.

She leaves to mourn, Mr. and Mrs. N. P. Anderson, her former son-in-law R. Christensen, 16 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren. For the last 12 years Mrs. Petersen has been blind and in very poor health. She believed in the Lord and confessed him to many friends and peacefully passed to her heavenly rest.

Funeral services were held yesterday morning, conducted by Rev. H. P. Jensen. Interment in the cemetery on the hill.
