DIED. At her home in West Branch, Iowa, 9th month 16th, 1891, of consumption, MATTIE E STEER, in the thirty-second year of her age. She as the oldest daughter of Samuel and Huldah Enlow, the former deceased. She was united in marriage, 3d month 18th, 1885, to William M Steer, who is now left with their only child, Earl, to mourn her loss.

She lived an exemplary life from childhood and has made a public profession of Christ for several years. During the last few years of her life our dear departed one has been a patient sufferer, yet always bright and cheerful and interested in the welfare of others. She had a kind word and cheery smile for every one, and will be missed by a large circle of relatives and friends.

Realizing that her Heavenly Father might call her home at any time, she frequently spoke of going to Heaven, saying "all is love and peace." For some time she had been looking forward to spending the fall and winter in the sunny south, but God has called her to take a journey to the summer land of song, where is no more pain, and we fell that our loss is her gain.
