Funeral services for Mrs. Forest (Dorothy Margaret) Rhoads, 87, were held at the First Presbyterian church, Mechanicsville Feb. 10 with the Revs. David and Jaymee Glenn Burns officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald and Phillip Puffer, Donald Pearson, Eric Doermann, Claude Mitchell and Glenn Farrington. Honorary pallbearers were Weldon Woods and Elwood Rhoads.
Mrs. Rhoads died at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, Feb. 8.
The daughter of Scott and Jennie Campbell Hamilton, she was born in Clinton county Jan. 1, 1899. She was married to Forest Rhoads in Stanwood Nov. 22, 1923. They farmed near Mechanicsville for many years.
She was a member of the former United Presbyterian church, Stanwood and was at the time of her death, a member of the First Presbyterian church, Mechanicsville.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. William (Mary Jean) Penningroth, Tipton and Mrs. Gene (Miriam) Heneks, Mechanicsville, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Margaret Ann, a brother and 3 sisters.
