16 April 1874 - The Tipton Advertiser

ANOTHER OLD CITIZEN GONE--Almost at the last moment before going to press we learn of the sudden death, this forenoon, of our esteemed townsman MR. HENRY REIGART. Mr. R. had been poorly this winter, but was thought rather better than usual this morning. He ate, for him, a hearty breakfast, and shortly afterwards was taken with a violent fit of coughing, in which he passed away almost before the friends knew he was in danger.

The funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church on Friday at 10 o'clock.

23 April 1874 - The Tipton Advertiser

DIED At his residence in Tipton, on Wednesday, April 15th, 1874, Mr. Henry Reigart, aged nearly seventy-two years.

The deceased was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1802. He came direct from Pennsylvania to Iowa in the Spring of 1856, since which time has made his home in Tipton, and become well and widely known as a good friend, kind neighbor, upright citizen, and consistent Christian gentleman. Mr. Reigart leaves a wife, sons and daughters, all of who we believe are living in Tipton, except Mrs. Dr. Kennedy, now resident in Des Moines. His mother also survives him, and since his death, all her children, living in Huntington, Penn., at the advanced age of ninety-two years.
